Lunch or Dinner?

It's about time to shift the planning apparatus into climbing gear. Who wants to get together for lunch or dinner to get the ball rolling?

Lunch is easier for me in the Mid-Cities/Grapevine/Irving vicinity, but given enough notice, I can pull off dinner about anywhere.

For that matter, I live in SW Fort Worth, about 8 miles from where we started the last trip. I could burn some meat if y'all bring sides.

Speak up.

We may be starting the Lone Star State Challenge from Austin so keep that in mind when you start your planning.

Hey all,
That's pretty neat, Woody, that the ride might start in Austin. I imagine there could be some great support there.

Based on the very preliminary route suggested quite a while ago by Truman, I highlighted my map, printed the lists of VFW and American Legion posts and dotted the landscape. When I use google maps, I don't come up with the same posts (less frequent on google). Anyway...point being, as you develop route options, I am willing to chart posts. As of that earlier post the section on 308 from DFW area to Waco is without many posts, about nil, actually. I even checked further east route and still came up empty handed. My dad is game for contacting posts once we narrow things down...he's been talking this up at the local posts since we returned home from last years ride.
I don't think I can make a Friday noon meeting..but would be willing to accept or volunteer for some assignments.
Happy planning.

Lari

Lari, what about setting you up on a conference call? You're to central a part of the group to leave out.

Hi Gang o'riders,
Sure, I can conference call/speakerphone if the timing is right...have cell phone will travel! But if things get complicated, feel free to just fill me in at some later time. I am certainly willing to help out in any way that I can.
I am glad to see some proactive planning! It just kicks up the excitement (and nervousness) a notch.
Say, Steve, how's the bike coming along? I've got some straws you could cut for your spokes if you like, to make those really cool sounds when you ride?

Lari

Lari, the straws sound cool, but do you think they'll clash with the playing cards in my spokes?? ;^)

Where did everyone go?

Life has a funny way of taking weird turns and sidetracking plans. Hope all is well!

If you're cooking meat, I'm there regardless.

Anything been decided on this, whether it is at Dave's or for a lunch meetup?
