VFW visit, and a hearty thanks

When could we meet at the VFW for a steak dinner? I know we owe them at least a stop by and a big thanks, and I think I finally have some time. I could also deliver some equipment I still have. I wish we could thank all the Vfw's that helped along the way, but we can start with our starting place.

I may be in for that depending on the dates. What did you have in mind. I wasn't there, but I wouldn't pass up a steak dinner for anything.

Uh...I won't make it...(tee hee)
Although, I did send a note to Beeville VFW for sandwiches/drinks and support..didn't forge your names, but typed them in!

Hey, Ryan, What did you think about the Wildflower Ride?

Truman knows the dates they have steaks, and the man told me we have a standing invitation.

I thought the Wildflower Ride was great! Afterward, I was kicking myself for not doing the 100K. It was a beautiful place to ride, and I needed the hills. I think my buddy was a little worn as he has not ridden this season at all, but I think he enjoyed it.

That ride and the trip to Austin, and back up 281 made for a great weekend. The rest stops were great, and the people were most friendly, including the nice girl in the WW jersey and her friend Sandy!

The steak dinners, which are the only fundraising the VFW post does, happen the 1st and 3rd Saturday of every month. So, there's this Saturday and then May 3rd. I could probably do this Saturday, but I think Beechnut wants to go, as well, and he's booked for this one. I'll see how he feels about 3 May.

Dinners are $11.00 per plate. The steaks are, if I recall correctly, 14 or 16 oz ribeyes that they're pretty proud of. As for sides and such, I have no idea what they offer, but domestic draft beers are available, so they got that going for them, which is nice.

C'mon, Lari...

Steve-tri training going well?
Tate-you ever connect with Matt-my dad has some stuff he wanted to deliver and I can't get BAMC to let me know how to reach him.
Ryan-It's a sweet ride, really nice folks as you said...put it on the calendar for next year and let me know you are coming, I'll coordinate jersey recognition for you!
Truman and Cliff! Hi ya! tell me what's new!
take care all...glad to see the chatter.

Lari
